Price is outrageous, yes, but it looks AWESOME. This toy predates the "vomiting rainbow" internet meme. Now or then, I think it's an excellent commentary on the Western cultures' addiction to oil. And if the price is so outrageous, will someone sell it to me for dirt cheap?? :)

thank you for the info. well, I paid indecent custom fees for it and just trying to recoup the money. in that case, I'll just keep it.
one question for you, please: I noticed in some photos (including yours, I think) that the head is rotating. I tried that without success.

  • Vadim angel

    Vadim

    777 516 471

No problem. Yeah, I know the feeling – after paying a lot for shipping and custom fees, the total price of the toy goes waaaay up for non-US collectors. And after that, selling it for that price turns to be an impossible task :(

Regarding the head – yeah, it is rotating. Apply some force, and it will rotate. You can also may try to hold the toy in hot water for a few minutes – it will soften the vinyl, and it will be easier to rotate the head.

thanks a lot for the tip. I was afraid to force it, for 2 good reasons: one- to not ruin/damage it and two- well, judging by its scary appearance, what if it fights back? :-D

yep, that's the reason I think hard these days before buying a toy - unless it's a cheap mini - if I *really* want it and if I think I'm going to keep it my collection, becasue shipping fees make it about 50% more expensive then original price.

regardless of price, I get kind of attached to my toys and don't like the idea of selling :)

I'm in Israel, and for me I find the best prices come from Hong-Kong. second is UK, and the US is the most expensive shipping...

Here are some shipping secrets I've gained since I started collecting ;)

The shipping price chart goes as following:
    1. China / Honk Kong – lowest shipping prices. Very reliable.
    2. Japan – pretty low shipping prices, even EMS (Express Mail) , which is VERY expensive in all other countries. SAL is even cheaper than EMS, but no tracking is available.
    3. UK – very decent prices.
    4. USA – for small items USPS First-Class Mail Int'l is a perfect solution (very cheap, and fast, but no tracking). For heavier (more than 4 lbs.), larger packages ask for USPS Priority Int'l (more expensive, same shipping times, has tracking). Don't bother with USPS Express.
    5. Germany – relatively decent prices.
    6. Singapore – relatively decent prices.
    7. France / Netherlands / Spain – very expensive.

Just finished opening a sealed case of this series. All the arms are sticky, is this normal?

Is the vinyl sweating where they have been sealed for 2 years?

Best way to dry them out?

  • AestheticMess

No real way to dry them out, they go less sticky with time but never fully dry, its a problem with this specific series.

    Sucks huh?

In this series the arms are not vinyl so they had to use a different kind of ink that's sticky. The most recent series don't have this problem.

I customized one from the series this week - the paint came right off the arms when I tried clearing them... it was this sticky goo and most of it came off with a tissue - I was glad I'm customizing it and not keeping it!
