I asked Fowler about it at NYCC and he told me he was very excited to work on this figure because he grew up reading 2000AD

@PO: Yes, just received. It wont stand, places where branches attached have glue stains and it's made of cheap "army men" plastic. :(

that stinks. i was interested in getting the wooden colorway of this, as nemesis is one of my favorite alien anarchists. CREDO!

Sergey,I think you were just unlucky? I received mine today, with no problems.
The joins are fine,no glue to be seen, and it stands very happily.
Very nice bit of Fowler and being brought up on 2000AD as well,a nice bit of nostalgia. :) -

Getting close with this. First will be a limited run of unpainted blue/green to match my avatar, then black/white like the prototype after that. I think. First one will be about $25.

My big concern is that no one will want this because it doesn't feature skulls, genitalia, or any Disney properties. I'll try to work all those into Rhinorocket 2.0.
-
-
then dont make a lot of em!! honestly, i really hate skulls, theyre so played out. i HATE this whole dick and balls thing on toys (mine are enough for me) IMO they just dont work on these toys, and i hate anything disney. i dont have a single toy that falls underneath any 3 of those categories.. cept for my buff s1 chase, but i actually turn him around (pentagram on back) cause i hate skulls and LOVE anything with satan.
make the stuff you want to make! dont make stuff that is 'popular' or cool. honestly, if no one buys my customs (when i get around to finishing them) i will just keep them for myself =)

Theres an "ART" type tag now, what justifies one item being any more "ART" than another?

Good question. Besides the occasional clock/bobble head/ what have you, I consider most of the pieces on Rotocasted to be "art" one way or another.
-
-
Exactly, art is in the eye of the beholder. To me, this isn't art, but if someone else thinks it is, then thats awesome.
The tags need to be narrowed down, and made into a selection you can choose from, as opposed to typing what you damn like. -
12 years ago
what other 'types' are there? i thought just about anything on here was considered an 'art' toy... hell, that's the only justification i have when i buy my toys..

There is a statue type, which seems just fine for this guy.

What makes this anymore a statue than a 16" KAWS toy?

I think a base gives it a statue vibe, and this one has a base even if it's incorporated into the design. A 5YL Kaws still has the look of a toy that could be played with, and I don't think this does. But I'm sure we could find examples of items that challenge that definition.

no need for a fuss.
This is a custom. We have a label for customs which we always use. -
-

i agree with shankweather, but jazzy does have a good point as well. glad to see it got the right label sorted out though.

Actually I think it's a one-off. ;)
-
-
custom, one-off, one of one, custom made. take your pick;)
with that said, this figure is flippin sweet. dont have any doc a stuff, but i can see myself collecting some at one point in time down the road. -

A custom what?
-

we were talking about the 'type'

I believe Dan is saying this can't be a custom because there is no platform. The custom/one-off debate has been ongoing.
-
-
oh.. i see.
-
Can't be a custom unless it started as something else. Other wise its just a designer toy and the quantity is 1
-
oh lordy, im just here to collect toys, not get technical about things ;)
