The SDCC Exclusive GID MB looks pretty sweet, but I haven't seen one in person yet. I do love my 2 GID Mummy Boys though (PGID & Unpainted GID)

Just got this bad boy in the mail today! Can't wait to open him up and add him to my MAD shelf.

Anyone else buy an AP and have trouble with the signature smudging off?
-
Yea, mine got smudged a bit :(
-
Did you contact Mad?
-
No, haven't gotten around to it, and didn't know it was happening to other people, did you?
-
Sure did, he wasn't particularly helpful though.
-
Never ever have your toy signed! Especially if it's dark because the inks available will smudge and/or fade. If you want the signature, always ask to sign the box of the header card or the card. Period. (Only exception is if the signature is on the foot and won't spoil the design if anything goes wrong.)
-
All the AP's were signed, I didn't realise until it arrived.
Not an excuse for an artist of this caliber to make such a faux pas in my books. -

Hear hear!
Perfect!
Thanks :) -
-
Why are we thanking hu8o?
-
MAD usually signs all of his vinyl from the site. not unless you ask him not to.
but I do know what you are saying Dan maybe he should know that it would have a possibility of doing that. -
13 years ago
AP's are always singed indeed. BUt sometimes artists make mistakes. I gota a Beast Brothers AP and they used a VERY sticky ink for the accessory, which is sort of inexcusable. But at least they promised not to use the same ink in the future.
PS: Everybody should always thank hu8o because he's the greatest! LOL -

I've turned my fingers down more than once over a pink Anarchy TM by Kozik. Hate that smudge! =p
-
-
Yeah I never get figures signed anymore if I can avoid it. Too many in the collection have had the ink fade or smudge over time. If only I had known then what I know now. I will say most of my signed Mad'ls are still in perfect condition though.
-
jazzy, what did he end up saying to you? Just, sorry, should have been more careful? Or what?
-
Signed or not signed, I think its down to nothing more than personal preference.
However a professional artist like Mad, who is charging $150 for a toy, should know how to sign something without any problems.
And if they do make an error of judgement with what type of pen they use, they should be doing everything they can in the name of customer service to put the issue wright, not the 2 paragraph email equivalent of a polite "meh". -
13 years ago
Obviously that should have been right nor wright, damn I'm grouchy first thing in the morning, also a bad speller!
-
personally I think this and Jesse Hernandez's Calevera are the two greatest 8 Inch Dunnys of all time :) This guy was worth every penny I spent on him @ Comic Con
-
Can't think of a time that a signature increased the value of a toy.
-
I stripped a MadL that had his signature on the back ... and that's the only thing that did not come off... LOL!

Selling off your roses Moshi!?! If you ever decide to let that Green Hell go please let me know ;)
-
Ahah, no! I just don't want to keep the big one. I'm still after the unpainted black and I will soon receive a custom RV by Josh.
-
Nice! Can't wait to see that! I've been wanting to talk with Josh about getting a custom...gotta save up some funds first.
Still looking for a Green Hell and Unpainted Black for my production run. Not even going to try and get all the unpainted protos though. -
13 years ago
I understand, I will not try neither. The only unpainted toys that I really collect are the Squirm, I still need the unpainted clear and I will be absolutely complete with this toy.

I'll trade my Eaton: http://rotocasted.com/toy/142... />or my Veil Specimen: http://rotocasted.com/toy/1226/ for this Rose Vampire.

hey, is this the first toy depicting someone indicted with sexual assault?
-
-
Mike Tyson might be the first. Plus there are the Upper Deck All Star figures, which included Kobe.
-
There are tons of Mcfarlane sports toys out there that predate the Upper Deck All Star Vinyl Figures & Mindstyle figures. But "designer toys" is a different story. Not sure how I categorize those Upper Deck figures, at least the early "limited edition" version of the figures.

I've had a GID reserved for me for a couple months. I have a guy on the inside. ;)
And that eBay auction is nuts, will someone really pay that? -
-
@Shank
Nop i dont own it... we send this one directly to Japan so was broken during the mold making process, i guess somebody kept the remainings of this guy :(
by the way, i start a custom Greasebat that would be pretty much like this guy... but with some sculpt changes ;)

It's strange seeing a Super7 toy with quantity. Brian once said in an interview that he wasn't happy with the limited edition/ flipper -thing!
-
-
the quantity thing is an exception, a special occasion- it's Brian 40 anniversary
-
It's more reasonable if you buy multiple toys at once, but I didn't have the money, with the Dunny 2011 release approaching.
-

This guy is very nice in person, stay tuned for new colorways in the future! ;)

Some assembly required. You need to glue the legs in, but the box comes with a tube of super glue and each of the legs and its appropriate mounting hole is clearly marked with a numbered sticker. Super easy to put together. It is an amazing piece.

It reminds me of the clockwork insect out of The Golden Compass film of a few years back, all steampunky...

I've gotten a few Patch Together toys and really love them, I just wish they'd advertise "some assembly required" before you bought the figure. It probably wouldn't stop me from buying one, but I think that's something important to share with a buyer.
