Tempting, how well known/trusted is this Ebay user? Wouldn't want a home recast!
-

It would also look awesome on the shelf surrounded with minis.
-

And that is just the starting price :P

Thanks a lot for the link fliphappy : I'm curious about the final price...! I would love to have this item, but I need to eat too, so... ;o/

hehehe I love the Japanese vinyl minis the best but the older larger Uamous are nice too! I like all the colours and the Japanese made quality is unbeatable.
I think this polystone one was ~US$40-50, can't remember now. I chose not to get the White one because I think I could only afford Mr Clement's resin Lapin back then and not both. I did get the black one though http://www.flickr.com/photos/... -

If you want to buy this one on ebay, my advice is : ask for pictures. I did it. And if the seller is very nice, his item is poor... ;o(

If you didn't already know, this character is actually two monsters. One is eating the others head. Have a closer look: http://farm4.static.flickr.co... />
Also, I love everything about it. -

Photo is unavailable, BoxingXius. Now my curiosity is piqued! Still thinking of buying it...

@tristan: the link works- just try to open it from the toy's page, not from the comments window (if this makes sense)

this is http://rotocasted.com/toy/1/ - probably the first uploaded toy?
I will use it for celebration purposes :-)
guys, there are less than 350 toys until the big 10k! I am sure we can make it until 2011.
how do you feel about a celebration contest? anyone who wants to participate will donate a toy (we can add a temporary button- "10k toy" to mark the toy we are willing to donate).
after the winner is randomly selected (in the day we reach 10k) all the participants will ship the toy to the lucky winner.
what do you think about it? any other ideas, suggestions, critiques? -
14 years ago
Nice idea but shipping cost would be the killer :P
-
not at all, because each participant will ship his/her toy to the winner- so it will be only a few $ (for shipping a mini figure, for example).
-

Oh yeah, I wasn't even thinking of mini figs :P

That's a great idea! I am going to donate a toy to 10K project.
-
-
so glad you like the idea, sergey! do you think you can add a special temporary button/category where everybody can mark the toy he/she donates? that way we avoid doubles :-) and we could see the prize "growing" in front of our eyes :-)

Too bad "the button" cannot be done fast.
Here's what I am thinking about.
1. Collect the list of 10K-toys just from comments section.
2. Make it 10K.
3. In the January 2011 (post will not be so busy) select as many winners as there 10K-toys provided and connect both parties.
Sounds good? -

well, my original idea regarding the prize was a bit crazier: the idea was to have only ONE winner for all the toys! that way, one lucky winner receives ... a whole (heterogeneous) collection at once!
but if you think it is better to have this "everybody wins" mechanism, well, rotocasted is your "baby", so you know better :-) -

Good luck!
But I doubt you could sell it for $140... The most rare and expensive of the booted glamour cats is the golden one, and even he doesn't fetch over $100. -
14 years ago
thank you for the info. well, I paid indecent custom fees for it and just trying to recoup the money. in that case, I'll just keep it.
one question for you, please: I noticed in some photos (including yours, I think) that the head is rotating. I tried that without success. -
14 years ago
No problem. Yeah, I know the feeling – after paying a lot for shipping and custom fees, the total price of the toy goes waaaay up for non-US collectors. And after that, selling it for that price turns to be an impossible task :(
Regarding the head – yeah, it is rotating. Apply some force, and it will rotate. You can also may try to hold the toy in hot water for a few minutes – it will soften the vinyl, and it will be easier to rotate the head. -

thanks a lot for the tip. I was afraid to force it, for 2 good reasons: one- to not ruin/damage it and two- well, judging by its scary appearance, what if it fights back? :-D
-

Yeah, this cat is fierce-looking :D
Actually, most people who don't know this toy's name, think it's a dog :) -

yep, that's the reason I think hard these days before buying a toy - unless it's a cheap mini - if I *really* want it and if I think I'm going to keep it my collection, becasue shipping fees make it about 50% more expensive then original price.
regardless of price, I get kind of attached to my toys and don't like the idea of selling :) -
-
Shipping for me is always about 30-50% of the price, its a real shame :(
I also don't sell anything..... Yet I do have a few boxes packed away full of figures. -

I'm in Israel, and for me I find the best prices come from Hong-Kong. second is UK, and the US is the most expensive shipping...

Here are some shipping secrets I've gained since I started collecting ;)
The shipping price chart goes as following:
1. China / Honk Kong – lowest shipping prices. Very reliable.
2. Japan – pretty low shipping prices, even EMS (Express Mail) , which is VERY expensive in all other countries. SAL is even cheaper than EMS, but no tracking is available.
3. UK – very decent prices.
4. USA – for small items USPS First-Class Mail Int'l is a perfect solution (very cheap, and fast, but no tracking). For heavier (more than 4 lbs.), larger packages ask for USPS Priority Int'l (more expensive, same shipping times, has tracking). Don't bother with USPS Express.
5. Germany – relatively decent prices.
6. Singapore – relatively decent prices.
7. France / Netherlands / Spain – very expensive. -

Regarding new Musgrove toy – I totally agree with you, Scott should make some new toy! His sculpts are amazing!

Cheers for the list vadimt!! I used to get everything shipped through work as we had a courier set-up in Japan/US/HK and now that I no longer work there, I am a bit lost with shipment costs.

No need to post sale offers in comments. There's "Where to buy?" ("For sale") section on the right. Just add your details there.

To the right you can see it saying "Where to buy" next to that there is a purple button that says 'ADD', click that and fill out your details and people can contact you directly through that.
