Paypal is so high with their fees. The BigCartel site uses Stripe, which is a Paypal competitor (strangely enough with the original paypal founders as its major investors), but I prefer them much more. And Stripe, at least, does not make buyers sign up with them to use them like Paypal does. You just pay through the site with a credit card like you would with any small online store. I don't know why everyone is so addicted to paypal. They are practically a monopoly now and their fees are so high. Don't you ever buy through online stores that have their own carts and take credit cards directly? Not sure why that is a problem. I buy through small stores and use my credit card all the time. I have never had a problem with it.
That being said, thank you for the suggestion. I have sold quite a bit over the last few months, but might very well do better by switching to paypal. It is something to consider.
I have no credit or debit card, which is why i use paypal. Can only spend what i have on my paypal & no more(which helps me limit myself). Also, it's accepted at like 90% of places online.
No credit card... Then how do you maintain a good credit score? Or is that a US thing, having your credit score determine just about everything from renting apartments to getting loans? :x
As far as i know in the Netherlands getting a loan, or renting a place is based of your current paycheck. No paycheck = no loan or renting a place. And when you fail to pay bills and stuff you get registered in a database basically blacklisting you for future financial stuff.
credit scores, aren't just based on credit cards. They're based on your ability to pay any long-term thing. Such as bills. However, i have basically no credit score either way(as my housemate is who's name is on most of our bills). Nothing I stress about much in life however. The simple ability to buy toys online on the other hand, IS something i tend to think about.
