That's just his personal brand. Kind of like Grody Shogun is for Luke Rook.

I don't think Frank himself does any of the actual work.

Sorry, shouldn't say he doesn't do work. Designing and marketing are work. He doesn't do the casting or manufacturing.

ah, makes sense now.. i remember reading on the KR boards a couple of months ago: 'kozik started resin casting not too long ago' (or something a long the lines of that).. i guess i took it too literal and thought he actually hand casted all these pieces.
thx shank! -
Ya, he actually completely molded and cast these.
-
Yeah, this is 100% Kozik. He got a whole bunch of equipment early last year and has been producing small runs.

This thing came in the mail today. I love it a lot, and the box of mine is signed by Buff himself!
Oh and the sculptor on all Boob Ball figures should be George Gasper -

Get acquainted with the rest of his art, it might give you a better feel for what he does. http://byparra.com/

So what is the bird dog lady lacking? What is the quality that a Formal or an Uglydoll has that Parra's figures don't? They're all simple, clean sculpts, with simple paint jobs. What separates them?
-
-
Needs 2 big bunny ears, and a Kidrobot logo on the bottom of its foot.
-

Personally I appreciate Parra. I don't own any of his pieces, but I find the clean, simple form and curves of his style appealing.
-
I like his cheeky/filthy sense of humour, and the french styling. Magnifique!
-
Well there is that too ;)
-

@shank, his faces and boots bother bother me. just not my style.. and it also bothers me that his feet look broken (ive had a compound fracture, so maybe that has something to do with it..) reminds me of something my grandma would collect. Please keep formal outta this, he is a gentlemen ;)

sometimes she is a little iffy.. old people, just do whatever they want!
and i have no idea how this piece translates to something 'naughty' -

Not so much this one, just Parra in general.

My love for Parra started out with his graphic work. To see this translated in a 3D form, is just amazing for the fans! Also, I think it's great that his typical and recognizable style (typo & character) seems timeless after almost being unchanged for 10 years.

Anyone else think this looks like a weak, rushed, cash-in series?
-
I think that the postapoc series would have been more interesting if Kidrobot had invited different designers. DrilOne for example.
-
This is the least original series they ever released. Even the recycled designs have been reused multiple times in the series.
So I fully agree Dan. -

Is Huck losing his shine?
-

I definitely smell the green. I think they are both losing their shine, but hey, I'm not a dunny collector, what do I know.

I thought he was pretty boring to begin with, but how could anyone design 60+ Dunnies and stay super fresh and original?
-
-
True dat, Shank. To be fair I like Huck, but have only ever really liked his customs, which I could never EVER afford.
-
I don't fully undertand the whole huck craze. I like some of his work. The Raku dunny for example was great. But this series isn't really doing it for me. A post apocalyptic dunny series could have been a cool idea if they had used more interesting artists. Plus Huck already had an entire dunny series to himself.
-
I'm not a huge dunny collector, but every time a new series comes out I usually see one or two that I get excited about. The only two that I've skipped entirely are this one and Gold Life. Just... not interesting. I think they make sense more as action figures than as art toys.
-
damn, i didnt know there were so many huck nay-sayers on here. makes me feel like im not the only one! i think this series is pretty unoriginal.. with the exception of the mecha dunnys.. those will be fun to paint =)

Gold life was my favourite funny series.
Only like a few of these though and they are mostly gold life mash ups.
It does seem like a cynical release.
Sorry Huck. I love you but... -

Color: Black on Black? I think simply black would have sufficed ;) And year would be 2013, no?

Fixed :)

Lowbrownie. It was actually 2012 and that colourway is called black on black. ;)
-
Yeah, I know the colorway is called black on black, so you might want to add that to the title, but not as a color tag, since "black on black" is not really a color. :)
I might be wrong, but wasn't this toy sold yesterday at the Toybreak auction thingy, and they said it was an upcoming exclusive for 3D Retro? -
12 years ago
Lowbrownie is right. The year is 2013. There was a pre sale yesterday at toy break and it will be released sometime in the near future. Also the color is just black.
-
Lowbrownie - This piece was actually produced in 2012 as I had mine in December last year and yes I take your point about the colour. thanks ;)
