I have bearbrick binges :) I wasn't into them initially, but I find them so compellingly odd. They have a very rigid sort of shape and you get all kinds of stuff on them - from these artist patterns to all manner of pop culture icons. I think cramming all these different things on to a bear shape is a little strange and I like it. the main thing for me became the bearbrick shape itself and having widely different ones next to each other.

No we do that one right. That's how you say it, "May 5th." Nobody says "5th of May." Notice how I put the periods inside the quotes, too.

counter point: cinco de mayo. and day/month/year just makes sense from an ascendancy standpoint, smallest unit to largest unit. do you tell time minute:hour:second? =p

Why would you take an old male name like Jan and change it into female? Why? Why?
    And what about Kim? Bo?

  • Shankweather angel

    Shankweather

    432 4 822

sbb that's Spanish. They put their adjectives after their nouns, so they're a mess to begin with. We write out our dates, "December 25, 2011" so we abbreviate them the same, "12/25/11." The metric system is for losers too, and men named Jan are an abomination.

    All in good fun!

TPJ: Jan the woman's name is usually short for Janice or Janet, and pronounced with a soft G sound. Jan the man's named is pronounced like "yahn," so they're very different things.

the name "issue" and relation with the genders depends on the countries and even continents, you come from/ live in, combined with the main language of the nationalities.

i can see the confusion with the typical assigned gender of the name JAN as a female for english speaking nations due the different pronunciation.

but nobody in europe (perhaps english speaking countries excluded) for example would assume, that JAN is a females name, nor the short version of janet/janette or janice.
so, where i come from JAN is a complete name for a male and it would never be chosen for a female.
and i maybe even would say, that people from the UK are used to jan as a male as well, because it is a very common and often given name in the neighbor countries...

so, i stop this name analyzation now and let toys be our priority
