I would rather the real Barcelona chair :P
Nice range of chairs, MUCH cheaper than the MOMA miniatures so thats always a plus. -
13 years ago
Well, the Vitra miniatures that they sell at MOMA are 1/6 scale (a little over twice the size of these), and they're made from the same materials that the original furniture is made of. But yeah, they are ridiculously pricey.

great colorway! the other beaver
http://rotocasted.com/toy/208/ is listed with a 7 inch size. I guess one of the entries has a wrong size? -
13 years ago
(well, in the particular case of this toy, size DOES matter ;-D )
-
just checked- the correct size is 5.25, so the old beaver has wrong info

I'm probably going to make a few enemies by typing this, but I'm fed up of seeing Kaws stuff.

I'm actually with Elissa on this...
first of all, it's the same stuff over and over again.
Second of all, Kaws feels to me more like a money machine then an artist these days... -
13 years ago
No-one's upset me, I'm just in a very honest mood :D Kaws does nothing for me at all. In fact, at work we have these ancient cart things for moving heavy stuff from downstairs to upstairs and vice versa, and they have crosses drawn on them with marker. Whenever I see them I think 'Kaws'. I'll take a picture and post it later... it seems that's all he's about, crosses for eyes and crossbones. It's not inspired, it's generic and old, and somehow he's managed to get people to want to translate their designs into his style. Give me more Tado, Tara McPherson and Joe Ledbetter any day. Rant over.

This is one of my favourite toys.
The image doesn't show it but it also comes with a sparky head and beautiful packaging / booklet.
http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/search/imageviewer.asp?EAN=9781593071455
The tail is string, ears are a heavy coated fabric and the arms are a tightly wounded bendable / posable rope

is this the prototype/resin version? As you can't see the mould line/join line compared to:
http://rotocasted.com/toy/8145/
I would rather not see it. -

just received the blonde version direct from HK and it does not have the mould line. I guess that they've not released any mass produced ones yet.

Why polystone? It's more like material that Kaniza made of.

Another series I do not understand. What's the appeal of a chair?

Chair is the ultimate design challenge and aesthetic object. I think idea of this series is brilliant.
