I called the owner of Toykyo today. They recently told me that they have collectors who purchase every sculpture they make. So i guess they get contacted first. The previous birds were for sale at Toykyo for +-$500 each, Colette sold them for +-$1080 :-s and they were gone in no time. The new birds are $400 each + shipping.

Vera, listen, please...I don't have an issue about other people's semi-personal comments. I love them! Sil and I did that, but some people were annoyed. As far as I see it, it makes Roto alive. It's not like the clever comments are standing in queue!!!! Mostly it's just ; "I love this..blah blah".... But the moment people are getting personal, it's all : GET A ROOM! . Roto was meant to connect people, right?
Maybe in the near future Sergey will add a chat room????????? -

actually, I am terribly unlucky with shoes :-( I have tiny feet indeed, but not enough tiny for those beautiful red shoes... I just bought them online and unfortunately they are too small. I love them a lot, so they might end up as... display shoes, haha. lesson learnt: never buy shoes online, buy only toys :-)

@ penguin: i gotta agree, it looks bigger than i expected as well, but as vera said, she has tiny feet, hence the shoes are tiny, too ;)
@vera: may i ask for your shoe size? your feet might look like baby ones next to a 10 1/5 - 11

I wear size 36 (european) and yes, it was an eBay auction, no bigger sizes available.
the bird is a bit bigger than I expected too, but well, shoes are small :-D

you will not believe what just happened... the shelf where I placed the bird just collapsed, out of the blue. I was the happy owner of the bird for... 48 hours.
(I don't blame my luck, I know it was totally my fault not to secure it properly. I guess I didn't deserved that beauty...)

Yeah its nice to pick up some missing pieces at a good price, jut clearing out some stuff to make cabinet space. I'm falling out of love with Jled, so he's the first to go. No offence to Joe, I still think his stuff is awesome, just to much of it, and it doesn't really fit with my style anymore.

I'm buying a lot more toys compared to a few years ago, just because most of them sell for less than retail ! It's indeed a good time to buy, not to sell. I find it crazy that the price of JLed, Jarvis, Michael Lau stuff dropped like crazy. A few years ago i sold a grey king ken for $500, now you can buy one for $200...

Why buy things if you are going to sell them later on? I only ever buy something I want in my collection for life and has nothing to do with the end line. If I wanted to make a profit, I would buy shares.

Preferences change as time passes, and you buy a figure "with a real passion" today, but feel different about it tomorrow.
Also, as collection grows, you suddenly find yourself with no space for new figures, so unless you're leaving in a mansion, you have to sell some of the old toys to free some space for new toys. -

As for dunnys, I believe a lot of collectors pass through a stage when they buy a lot of dunnys just to complete a series.
I know, I did. And so I have a lot of dunnys that weren't purchased because I really like the design, but simply to complete (or at least trying to complete) a series. -

I often get rid of stuff when I have dealings with the artist and they turn out to be a douche bag! I just can't collect stuff, if I don't like the person.
